When it comes to hydraulic torque wrenches, some users may feel relatively unfamiliar with them. They are composed of a wrench body, a dedicated hydraulic pump station, high-pressure hoses, and high-strength sockets. They are mainly used in some relatively large-scale construction,
maintenance, and emergency repair work. Below is a guide on how to use a hydraulic torque wrench.
How to Use a Hydraulic Torque Wrench?
1. Select and fit the hexagon socket according to the size of the nut to be tightened.
2. Assemble the ratchet wheel based on whether the nut needs to be tightened or loosened.
3. Insert the high-pressure and low-pressure rubber hoses with quick connectors into the connection points of the wrench and the directional control valve. Ensure they are fully inserted, then roll the outer sleeve of the quick connector by an angle to lock it in place.
4. Place the reaction lever against the corresponding hexagon support sleeve or other surfaces capable of bearing the reaction force.
5. Control the turning angle of the wrench linkage within the range indicated on the reaction lever.
6. To pressurize, rotate the air release valve one turn to the left to open it, let out all the air, and then close it.
7. When using the manual pump to pressurize, roll the directional control valve handle according to the extension and retraction of the hydraulic cylinder piston rod. When the handle is on the left, the piston rod extends; otherwise, it retracts. When in the middle position, the pressure is zero.
8. During pressurization, observe the pressure gauge reading to obtain the torque value. Pre-calculate the pressure value corresponding to the required torque value using a formula beforehand.
9. After pre-tightening, place the directional control valve handle in the middle position to reset the pressure to zero.
10. To remove the high-pressure and low-pressure rubber hoses with quick connectors, first rotate the outer sleeve of the quick connector by an angle so that its notch aligns with the limit pin and push it forward to disconnect the connector.
In summary, I believe everyone now understands the specific operating procedures for a hydraulic torque wrench. Only by using it correctly can we extend its lifespan. Welcome new and existing customers to visit our website to select and purchase hydraulic torque wrenches.
